Kitchens, bathrooms, and laundries are arguably the hardest-working rooms in the home and consequently need the toughest floors. In kitchens we spill, splatter, feed pets, collect trash, and, for those with back doors, track in mud. In bathrooms, we splash, steam, groom, and preen, often in bare feet. In laundries, we add strong detergents and bleaches to the mix. In all three spaces, the floors must be extra slip-resistant, comfortable, and easy to make sparkling clean. On top of it all, these floors must look great—e specially in kitchens and baths, where we’ve invested the most money.
